Sea Salt & Wood Sage Hand-Poured Soy Candle | 200g | 175g
Walk along a British clifftop in late summer. The wind is up. The grass is bleached pale by months of sun and salt. Somewhere below, the sea throws itself against the rocks. The air smells of brine, wild herbs, and that particular mineral sharpness you only get on the coast. Sea Salt & Wood Sage is that walk, that wind, that immediate clearing of the head. The candle to light when you want the whole house to breathe out.
A fresh, herbaceous coastal fragrance
This is a luxury sea salt and wood sage candle for people who like their freshness with proper character. The opening is unmistakably coastal, briny sea salt and a clean lift of bergamot, with the green sharpness of crushed sage running through. The heart settles into wood sage, ambrette seed and a faint touch of red berries, lifting the mineral notes into something more rounded.
Underneath, the base reveals soft white musk and a thread of grapefruit zest that keeps the fragrance feeling alive even hours into the burn. Hand-poured in small batches in our Portsmouth studio using natural soy wax, finished with a premium unbleached cotton wick, intricately interwoven with a delicate paper thread and encased in a protective outer jacket. The result is a steadier flame and a cleaner, longer burn.
Fragrance notes
Top: Sea salt, bergamot, crushed sage
Heart: Wood sage, ambrette seed, red berries
Base: White musk, grapefruit zest, soft amber
Why you'll love it
For British summer evenings. Throw the back doors open, light Sea Salt & Wood Sage, and let it pull the coast indoors. Particularly brilliant on a still summer evening with a glass of something cold.
For coastal homes (and homes that wish they were). If you live by the sea, this is a love letter. If you do not, this is the next best thing.
For the kitchen. Crisp enough to cut through cooking smells, sophisticated enough to feel like a proper grown-up candle. Particularly good with seafood on the menu.
As a gift for outdoor types. Sailors, swimmers, walkers, anyone who finds their head out on a windy headland. Sea Salt & Wood Sage reads exactly right. Hand-wrap option at checkout.
The details
• 200g hand-poured soy wax candle
• Approximately 35 hours of clean, even burn
• Premium unbleached cotton wick, paper-threaded and jacketed for a steadier flame
• White glass vessel, fully reusable
• Phthalate-free, vegan, cruelty-free
• Hand-poured in small batches in Portsmouth, UK
The ritual
For the best burn, light it for two to three hours the first time you use it, allowing the wax to melt fully to the edges of the glass. This sets what's called a memory pool and means your candle will burn evenly every time after. Trim the wick to 5mm before each lighting. Keep the candle away from draughts, and never leave it burning unattended.
Pairs beautifully with
Sea Salt & Wood Sage Wax Melts — same fresh coastal fragrance in flame-free format. Ideal for filling a coastal kitchen with brine and sage.
Highland Waterfall Candle — push the freshness north with cold water, eucalyptus and pure Scottish minerality.
Southsea Candle — the south coast counterpart, hand-poured a stone's throw from the actual seafront.
