Irish Turf Fire Soy Wax Melts | 100g Clamshell
There is no smell like it. A small stone cottage on the west coast, the wind off the Atlantic, and a fire of cut peat smouldering in the hearth. Smoke that is somehow both earthy and sweet. Irish Turf Fire is the scent of that cottage, that fire, that quiet hour before bed, now in a generous 100g clamshell of soy wax melts. The scent of being properly, deeply at home, in flame-free form.
A smoky, earthy wax melt with proper depth
These luxury Irish turf fire wax melts deliver the same atmospheric peat-smoke fragrance as our hand-poured candle, in a flame-free format that is brilliant for filling a snug, study, or living room with proper cottage atmosphere. The opening is unmistakably peat smoke, dry, mineral, slightly sweet, the way real turf smells when it has been cut and dried and stacked against a stone wall. Heart notes of dark earth, leather and a thread of oakmoss give the fragrance its bones.
Underneath, the base does the slow work, sandalwood, vetiver, and the gentlest hint of Irish whiskey. Hand-poured in small batches in our Portsmouth studio using natural soy wax, with no phthalates, no parabens, and no shortcuts.
Fragrance notes
Top: Peat smoke, dried heather, cut turf
Heart: Dark earth, leather, oakmoss
Base: Sandalwood, vetiver, soft Irish whiskey
Why a wax melt rather than a candle?
Wax melts are the practical, flame-free way to enjoy a fragrance throughout the home. They are perfect for households with small children, pets, or anyone who would rather not have a candle burning unattended. They are also a brilliant way to test a fragrance before committing to a full candle, or to scent a room you do not want to put a candle in, like a bedroom you sleep in or a bathroom while you are bathing. With approximately six to eight hours of throw per cube and eight cubes per clamshell, a 100g pack delivers genuinely considerable value.
Why you'll love it
For long autumn evenings. Drop a cube in the warmer when the wind picks up outside and let the room get quieter, deeper, more itself by the hour.
For St Patrick's Day. Properly Irish, properly atmospheric, properly grown up. A clamshell of melts is a brilliant alternative to a single candle for the day, with enough scent to last well beyond the celebration.
For a reading chair, study or snug. Flame-free atmosphere for the rooms where you settle in for hours. Particularly good with a glass of something dark in the other hand.
As a gift for someone hard to buy for. Men in particular, and anyone who finds most candles too floral or too sweet. Irish Turf Fire melts are unmistakably masculine in feel and properly atmospheric.
The details
100g clamshell of pre-formed soy wax melt cubes
Approximately 6 to 8 hours of fragrance throw per cube
Generous 100g pack — significantly larger than the 50-70g standard
Reusable, recyclable clamshell packaging
Phthalate-free, vegan, cruelty-free
Hand-poured in small batches in Portsmouth, UK using natural soy wax
How to use your wax melts
Snap one cube from the clamshell and place it in the well of an electric or tealight wax melt warmer. Allow the cube to melt completely, releasing fragrance for six to eight hours. When the scent fades, simply allow the wax to harden, pop it out of the warmer, and replace with a fresh cube. There is no flame, no soot, and no waste. One cube is plenty for an average-sized room. Always use your warmer on a stable, heat-proof surface and follow the manufacturer's safety instructions.
Pairs beautifully with
Irish Turf Fire Candle — the full atmospheric experience. Hand-poured into a 200g luxury candle for the evenings when you want the flicker as well as the fragrance.
Black Cherry Wax Melts — for layering smoke and gourmand depth on a winter evening. Properly atmospheric.
Highland Waterfall Wax Melts — the morning after the night before. Fresh, mineral, clearing the air.
