English Pear & Freesia Diffuser

A soft, fruity-floral fragrance that fills a room quietly and keeps going for weeks.

There is a particular kind of afternoon in an English garden that this diffuser is built around. The pear tree heavy with fruit. Freesias in the borders doing exactly what freesias do - opening up without announcement, clean and beautiful and impossible to ignore. English Pear & Freesia is that afternoon caught in a bottle, and the reed diffuser is the format that lets it carry on working long after you have stopped thinking about it.

Place it on a bathroom shelf or bedroom windowsill and within an hour the fragrance is simply there - fresh without being sharp, floral without being heavy, the kind of scent that makes a room feel looked after. Twelve weeks of continuous fragrance from a single 100ml bottle, with eight fibre reeds drawing the oil upward and releasing it steadily into the air around it.

Made by hand in our Portsmouth studio. No phthalates. No parabens. No shortcuts. Just a properly considered fragrance in a format that does what it promises.

What does English Pear & Freesia smell like?
The opening is ripe, juicy pear - sweet but never cloying, with a light green freshness that stops it from tipping into candy territory. Bergamot lifts it early and keeps things clean. As the diffuser settles in a room, the heart opens up: freesia at its most properly floral, soft jasmine and a whisper of rose petal that adds warmth without weight. The dry-down is white musk, a touch of amber and the faintest trace of patchouli - enough to give the fragrance staying power without pulling it in a darker direction. It stays fresh and soft throughout. The kind of scent that works in any room, in any season.

For a guest bathroom. Fresh, floral, welcoming. The kind of fragrance that makes visitors notice the room without knowing why.

  • English Pear & Freesia is a fresh, fruity-floral fragrance built around ripe English pear, bright freesia, jasmine and soft rose petal, with white musk and amber in the base. It opens with a clean, slightly green juiciness and settles into something soft, warm and quietly sophisticated. It sits in the Floral & Escapist mood category - fresh enough to wear every day, floral enough to feel properly luxurious.

  • Our reed diffusers are 100ml and designed to last approximately 12 weeks with normal use. The exact duration depends on room temperature, airflow and how often you flip the reeds. Warmer rooms and flipping the reeds more frequently will release fragrance faster. Cooler rooms with less airflow will extend the life. Eight natural fibre reeds are included to give you control over intensity from the start.

  • Reed diffusers work best in rooms with some gentle air movement - hallways, bathrooms and bedrooms are ideal. Place the diffuser where air circulates naturally, such as near a doorway or on a shelf at mid-height. Avoid positioning directly under air conditioning vents or in full sunlight, as both will accelerate evaporation and shorten the life of the oil. Bedrooms and guest bathrooms are particularly well suited to English Pear & Freesia because the fragrance is soft and clean enough to live with continuously.

  • Insert all eight reeds when you first open the diffuser and leave it for 24 hours to allow the oil to fully saturate the reeds before the fragrance begins releasing properly. After that, flip the reeds once a week - turn them upside down so the dry end goes into the oil and the saturated end faces out. This refreshes the scent output without wasting oil. If you want a stronger initial hit, flip the reeds daily for the first week. To reduce intensity, simply use fewer reeds.

  • English Pear & Freesia is one of the most universally liked fragrances in our range - fresh, floral and familiar without being generic. As a reed diffuser it makes a particularly good gift because it keeps giving for around 12 weeks. It is popular as a Mother's Day gift, a housewarming present and a thank-you gift. The white glass bottle and gold collar present well and require very little additional wrapping. If you are buying for someone who likes Jo Malone-style fragrances or fresh florals in general, this is a confident choice.

  • A reed diffuser releases fragrance continuously and passively - no flame, no switching on or off, no supervision needed. It works around the clock and is particularly good for rooms you want to smell consistently without effort, such as hallways, bathrooms and bedrooms. A candle delivers fragrance more intensely but only when lit, and requires attention while burning. Many customers use both together: the diffuser for ongoing background fragrance and the candle for evenings or occasions when they want a stronger scent experience. The English Pear & Freesia range includes both formats so you can choose what works best for each room.

  • All Salt & Blossom reed diffusers are hand-crafted in small batches in our studio in Portsmouth, UK. We blend and bottle in-house using premium fragrance oils. We do not use contract manufacturers or third-party fulfilment for production. Small batch production means we can maintain consistent quality and fragrance strength across every bottle.
